I'm not MIA just without internet since Thursday morning and not sure when it will be back on again. :-( We have satellite internet and it's been giving us problems for about a month. We FINALLY got someone out to look at it, they changed out a part, and now it doesn't work at all. So I'll be posting when I can find a spare minute at work until it's back up at my house.

Pam I've not been able to check my email either so I hope Niles made it home okay. I have his journal that was supposed to travel with him. It got left out when I packed the box and I didn't find it until this weekend. I'll get it in the mail in the next few days so you can write up your trip in it and then send it on to the next person he visits.

My sister has been here for a visit and we were having way too much fun playing to miss the internet too much. She came bearing gifts! See the lovely quilt she made me. This is going to hang on my office wall for a bit so I can enjoy it all day long. Susan is a new quilter and this is just her 3rd finished project. Although she's making a REAL good start on a UFO collection. LOL! I had to laugh when she brought her ENTIRE STASH AND SCRAP COLLECTION with her and it fit neatly in one plastic box and one ziploc bag! But she left here with 3 boxes of my stash so she now has a bit more to play with.

This is the other quilt Susan finished while she was here. Her second completed quilt. (The first was one for her grandson's birthday a few weeks ago.)Her daughter is a varsity cheerleader this year and is leaving this morning for cheerleader camp. Her school colors are black and yellow and the team are the Gators. So Susan made her this quilt to take with her and is sending a black pigma pen so she can get her teammates and instructors to sign the quilt for her on the yellow sections.

We had such a good time while she was here and I sure wasn't ready for her to go back home! It's hard sometimes when all my family is so far away and I don't travel well myself these days. We're hoping she can come back again this fall for the Houston quilt show. I'm wondering if she'll be able to carry her entire stash with her in another 6 months. Probably not at the rate she keeps finding new quilt stores in her area to explore. LOL!

I'm so far behind on your blogs and hope to be able to visit a few of you each day until I get around the rings. Better get back to work! I've been off since last Wed. so lots to catch up on here too.

Its such fun to share quilting with family. Since I started quilting 5+ years ago - my mom and 3 sisters have started quilting too. Lots of fun when we all get together.

I hate it when the repair person makes the problem worse, rather than better! hope you are back online soon at home-and be sure and tell your sister, if she is making those sorts of quilts now, she sure is past beginner to me! wonderful, wonderful quilts! glad you enjoyed her visit so much!

Sounds like you had a great time with your sister, and are having a great influence on her! LOL She's doing a great job--which means you are at helping her. I wish my sisters quilted or sewed or did anything crafty. It's a wonder we came from the same family.

Way to go, sis! If you sent 3 boxes of fabric home with her, she already has more than she can carry in one trip even if she doesn't go shopping.

Darned computer--we have got to get and keep you connected, Nancy!

Hi guys, this is the sister. I may be a beginner quilter, but have been sewing since a child. Since I don't know what is beyond my "skill level" I don't know when a pattern is too difficult to do. Also the first "quilty" thing I ever did was the back of a vest - a Trip Around the World" done in 1" squares. I also tend to be stubborn and decide that I can do whatever I put my mind to and not limit myself to someone else's interpretation of Beginner, Advanced, Expert. Had a great visit with Nancy and look forward to returning soon. Nancy, I got my quilting frame to do the Tumbling Blocks. Printed the 40% off internet coupon from Hobby Lobby and went and got it yesterday. Have to assemble it this weekend and get started. Also got the light pink thread. Am going to wait until I get it quilted then will take it to my favorite quilt shop to get the 30's fabric to bind it. will post a picture on our blog when it is complete.

Hi, Susan, your quilts are wonderful, cute kitties and the Gators quilt with space for signatures is just great, your daughter will treasure that in years to come.

Great to see you back!

Tell your sister she's becoming quite the quilter! The school color quilt is a great idea - and getting them to personalize it will make a super keepsake.
