Niles and I are still alive and doing well.

I came back from retreat to a REALLY busy time at work and Niles insisted on staying to help get me caught back up. We're taking a little break right now and thought maybe we ought to let everyone know we're okay. It's been a rough few weeks but I think things are finally almost back to normal so Niles will be winging his way home on Monday. He's going to stay the weekend and help me clean my sewing room a bit. In exchange he'll be taking a few tops and other odds and ends back to his mommy, Pam, for Wrap Them in Love. We had planned for him to make a quilt himself to donate but it's just been too crazy to get any sewing done. So we've decided to go thru my stack of completed tops and bags of UFOs and see what we can find to fill out the box (and provide extra padding for his return journey.)

We promise to post pictures of retreat and his adventures since then tomorrow morning. We did try to post some late last night but blogger wouldn't let us. :-( Break time is over so we'd better get back to work.

Hi Nancy, so sorry it's time for Niles to go, sounds like you had lots of fun together tho.

I've been hoping and wondering if life was getting back to normal after the breakin. And hoping that you and DH found some satifaction from the authorities or insurance to help offset the lose. Hope life quiets down soon...Hugs, Finn

Glad to hear you are fine - just swamped at work. Seems to always happen when one takes a vacation, doesn't it? I'm sure it was hard to go away after your experience with the break-in.

Good to hear that Niles will be padded nicely with WTIL tops for his return trip. He MIGHT be coming back from IL with me next week but it sounds like you need him more to help clean up the sewing room once your job lets you back in there, that is.

Good to have you post, Nancy--we have missed you!

Nancy, Niles can be a real practical joker so I would watch him like a hawk when you get ready to clean your sewingroom. He will do his best to hide your rulers, move your scissors, unthread your machine and mix the colors up in your stash system. I think it is in his gnome genes because he thinks those things are funny, hopefully he has behaved better than that for you!

On the other hand he loves quilts and he loves children so he will be so happy to help you pack a box of Wrap Them in Love tops and etc. Nancy, thank you for your generous gift to WTIL, I was not expecting that and was speaking with 2 gals who are also involved with WTIL when I read your post...all 3 of us were delighted!! Thank you so much.

Now Niles, you be nice to Nancy and be a good helper to her...no typical gnome tricks!!! Hurry home little man.
