I've been soooooo bad!

See what I got in the mail today. :-) Ain't they purty? When I was restacking my stash cabinets after doing my last big purge a few weeks ago I noticed that my stash was SERIOUSLY lacking in purple. So one day last week when I was bored I did a little shopping at Thousands of Bolts. I just love that site. Really good quality fabrics mostly in the $3.50-$4.50 per yd range. These are prints that are a few years old but as I mostly buy blenders there I don't care that the prints are older. And it's a great place to get backings.

I'm also low on pinks, oranges, and browns so those will be the focus on further shopping sprees. Probably one a month so as not to create a strain on my budget.

And yes I do realize that not all of this batch was purple. But I just love the peachy/coral/rust tones and need a bit more of a selection for a project I have coming up soon.

Don't you just love the looks of a colorful stack of fabrics like this? Just looking at it starts my creative juices flowing. I almost feel like I should be able to touch them if I reach up to the screen LOL!

well, if you are going to buy fabric you don't have to make excuses for us. Actually I think you did it the SMART way because you could tell at a glance, more or less, what color categories were missing completely or had gaps.

I seem to be lacking in greens for example and never seem to have the "right" blue, for example.

How was the meeting with Billie Lauder? I know my local friends were happy to have her back at the Alabama Quilt Symposium last weekend. The girl DOES get around

I often seem to be short of purples and lilacs but in my case its because I use them such a lot of the time - they're one of my natural to grab colours - pretty shades you've picked there

There's people that actually care how OLD a print on a fabric is? I don't think I've ever met a fabric snob like that! Of course, most of my friends aren't the type who make quilts wholly from some designer's 'line' of fabric either... lol.

honey--you deserve to buy fabric! The way you have been purging, cleaning up, throwing out, giving away? And guess what? I don't have hardly ANY purple at all! I had to buy a FQ the other day just to fill out the colors on one of my samples! Now that is sad! I don't dislike it, but pink/green/yellow seems to dominate my stash right now--before that it was blues/yellows. thanks for the tip on that website, I better go check it out--for future, of course! :)

I too got a few squishy packages in the mail.... Australiana for a trip quilt. :o) (or 3 or 4 or 5 - that is how many are swirling in my mind...)

Lovely fabrics - I like Thousands of Bolts because they will ship to the UK and it's still cheaper than similar fabric that I can buy here. I see one of your purples is one that I ordered from them so I know I'm in good company!

You wanna see bad... I just posted some of my "new" lovelies - not a bin in the bunch under $10/yard... YIKES! (well maybe 2 or 3 were a tad bit cloer to $8 - still not the deal that you got!)
