I'd like to welcome all the new members to our ring. I'm not going to list all of you because there's so many at once I'm afraid I'd leave someone out so this is a blanket welcome. :-) I haven't had much time to do more than glance at everyone's blogs the last several days but I do look forward to going back and maybe reading your archives and getting to know you all a bit better. I did run across one today that had me laughing. Shelina's current post shows a one block quilt made from the same design I'm currently working on. Go check it out. Her's is just beautiful.
This is what I've been working on during my long holiday weekend. I have all the pieces cut out for 12 blocks and managed to get 6 of them made. There will be one more block in each of the 6 colors. This is brighter in person than the photo shows. Some of the flower fabrics are light and kinday blendy with the background greens but I like the watercolory effect so it doesn't bother me. With the border I'm planning this will finish at 64" X 80" so will be big enough to wrap up in for naps. I should be able to finish the rest of the blocks this week in the evenings and maybe get the border done this weekend. It's going to be a pieced border so I'm not sure how long that is going to take me. That's going to be a change for me as I usually use plain borders and knowing me that just might be what this finally ends up with. We'll see how much trouble I have with the one I have planned.
Things have been REALLY quiet on the cat front today. All 5 of my babies have been laying around sleeping. That is until I laid blocks out on the floor to take a photo. That seemed to be a sigh for "Tornado Sam" to go into action. I swear there wasn't 2 minutes time lapse between the 2 photos. I'm thinking since they've all slept all day and are just now coming to life at bedtime I'm going to toss the lot of them out so I can get some sleep tonight!
Several people commented on the quilt on the couch. I do that because I have 5 cats that come inside. It's MUCH easier to grab a quilt off the couch and toss it in the washer than to get 5 cats worth of cat hair out of the upholstery. LOL!

I love your quilt that you have been working on over the long weekend. Great progress.
I love your colour selection for this quilt.
Nancy - those flowers have turned out so well - not that I expected otherwise - a lovely way to use drunkards path/bullseye blocks - very pretty :o) have definitely put that idea away for future reference
I don't recall ever seeing drunkards path set to make flowers-and I like it. I like the colors you are using, I can definitely see the petals. Like Anne, I'll make a note of it and file it away for the future.
I love what you are doing! (So glad to see that you are back to quilting too!) Yours looks better than your ispiration piece - IMHO. BTW I love when quilts have some low contrast blocks - make me stop and really look at them.
My cats are good "helpers" too. :o)
This is really nice. I have it in the back of my mind to do one of these. I saw the one at Shelina's and smiled to myself and now here you are. Great minds think alike. I love your color choices. I know my will be bright also. I look forward to the completed quilt.
The blocks look wonderful but you know as a fellow cat owner, I am LOL at the 2nd shot of how Sam rearranged them for you. As I often have to tell mine "you are NOT helping"
I love the colors in this quilt. They are awesome! And you picked a great design. Great minds think alike. Are you cutting out an L and a pie out of each fabric like I did, or are you only cutting out L's from the green and pies from the other colors? Drunkard path seems like this never ending project where you have to keep finding a way to use the leftover blocks and fabric. What do you do with those odd shaped leftovers?
I love this quilt! I just saw another version of this one somewhere and printed it out - maybe one day I'll get around to making one myself. I hadn't seen Shelina's verson but did follow your link to check that one out too.
Very pretty flowers!
I had to laugh at the rumPussed through blocks on the floor, I guess it looked like an invitation to play!
Is Sam one cat or a cyclone made of all 5 cats rough housing together? Mine are both siamese, so group demolition efforts I usually blame on the Black-Nosed-Bandit crew.
Nancy, what wonderful blocks! I totally love the watercolor look. Keep going, you are half way there!
Your colors are awesome. It's going to look great.
I love those blocks. They are simply beautiful! Good job!
Love your colorful quilt! What kind of pieced border are you doing?
Maybe your cat is just trying to re-arrange the blocks to give you more options.
Lovely curved blocks. I am looking forward to see the quilt :-)
love this latest quilt project Nancy! great colors..
I love this quilt top so far. I really wish I had the patience to do the rounded pieces.
Yeah - it is looking bright and cheery and beautiful! Good for you.
Cheers!
Evelyn
Love these flowers. Great idea.
I think your helpers thought they were really doing you a favor and rearranging things for you!
