3-1/2 hours tonight! Boy am I tired but I decided I could use my time more productively in the sewing room than in front of the tv or computer.
So here's what I've been working on. I just have the borders to put on tomorrow morning and that will be 4-1/4 yds busted from my stash. And I might even have something that will work for the back. Which will be another 3-1/2 yds busted.
My original intention had been to use the pink as the inner border. But it turned out to be sooooooo pink I'm not sure whether it might need the green instead to tone it down a bit. What do ya'll think? Whichever one ends up as the inner border, the other will be the binding.
This will finish at about 55"X78X so will be a nice nap size quilt probably for charity. Since the border fabric is rather elegant and it turned out to be so pink, I think I'll find out if the local cancer ward needs a quilt for someone with breast cancer who's going thru chemo.

I agree, the pink looks like the better choice. :)
I like the pink! But I am a pink kinda girl! Great idea to donate it! The person who will get it will love it!
I say the pink. The green seems to get lost. Do you have enough to do the binding in the pink also? Someone out there will love all that pink.
Ooh - I thought you didn't like pink! That is gorgeous - it looks tropical - I'm voting for the pink inner border too.
Pink here as well---it needs the darker color or it gets lost in the tropical print. Quite colorful and fun, Nancy. Good going on the stashbusting. Gotta love Puss in the Corner.
pink, pink pink! The green border just "fades" into the busy print of leaves and doesn't tone it down from the picture I see.... Love the idea re a cancer ward. Very thoughtful.
Definitely PINK!
I agree with the others. The green gets lost, where the Pink just POPS. I love the fabrics. This is a knock-out.
The dark green shows up nicely...this is such a neat quilt, I love it.
Definitely pink!
Pink, I am going for pink, but it would be nice if you would do it also on the binding.
I'm going to be a real maverick here. Before I read your post I looked at the picture and thought "I love your scrappy inner border!" I thought you'd done it with strips of the diferent colors. Now that's all I can think of. That's what I'd do if it were me - various strips of the pink, light and dark green and orange. I love things that don't look just like what everyone else would do.
The pink, the pink, the pink lol
And I like your little helper there too.
Definately the pink. The green sort of fades away.
I agree with the rest, for some reason the green gets lost, but the pink pops!
I can't imagine having that much fabric in my stash!!
Pink is my vote. And of course you gave me a great idea for a big floral fabric I have in my stash. Good job on using up stash - and making such a pretty quilt. I think the cat is proud to pose on such a nice quilt.
I am a day late, but I like the pink too. What a fun quilt! I really like how it is turning out!
The pink does grab one's attention, and it pulls the other pinks out, making it appear a pinker quilt than it actually is. The green does the same, only with green becoming the focus. I personally prefer the green with the bright pink binding, but it will look good either way.
What a lovely summery quilt you have in the making Nancy :-)
I am a bit behind on the blog reading, so here goes:
The fabric purchases from July are lovely. I hope you will enjoy them when you come to use them.
I like your taking on stash and scrap quilts.
I like to use a lot of fabrics in my quilts, even in my 2 colour quilts and I do not differ much between stash and scraps. Whatever works, right ? :-)
I am getting better at using my fabrics soon after purchasing. They don't get better with long time storing. One of my main reasons for not buying for retirement or anything else for that matter. Better with a sum of money in the bank to buy fresh fabric when I want or need it than a huge stash of old fabrics.
Cat-in-box brought a smile to my face :-)
Perhaps i'm a little late replying but my choice would also be pink.
I love the floral fabric you used in the border.
what a great quilt.. it's so pretty. good job quilting for sewww long and put a big dent in the stash!!!
good use of this fabric and color combining! I like it...way to go Nancy!
