I'm a Bad Blogger!

Once again I think I should change the name of my blog from "nancyquilts" to "nancy works and sleeps" cause that's about all I do lately. :-( I'd like to be able to say I've at least been keeping up with all your blogs but I can't even do that. I do skip thru bloglines a few a day mostly picking blogs at random but I've not been able to read my whole list for a few weeks now. So if I haven't been by to visit please don't think it's because I don't find your blog interesting. I've been really busy at work and have had no energy once I get home but that's pretty much over now so hopefully I'll get caught up on blogs this week. And one day I might even get my sewing machine out of my car (where it's lived for almost a month!) and get some sewing done.

I had planned to do Judy's new hour-a-day project but since I already have a maple leaf quilt I think I'll have to pass on this one. I really need to get some that have already been started done first. And I've not done ANYTHING on the 3" block project Susan and I are doing together and really think I should at least get those blocks done before I start a new project.

Hopefully my next post won't be so far in the future and might even have a bit of quilty content. I can always dream!

Working and sleeping are not bad things. Sometimes you must let the creative juices replentish.

:) Everything comes and goes in cycles. Hopefully, your work cycle will slow down and allow you to move back into your creative cycle. As libby said, creative juices need to replenish!

I know exactly how you feel. There are times of the year where all I can do is drag myself to and from work and sleep. I totally understand. It is easy to get behind in reading all of these blogs--these are busy busy people and they are great at writing about what they do! Catch up when you have a chance--we will wait for you!

Don't fret. There's nothing wrong with working and sleeping - you obviously need that. Just relax and take each day as it comes. You'll get back to sewing when the time is right for you. Take care of you!

Don't worry Nancy, we've all been there. If you work I think life goes up and down and sometimes you can do other things and sometimes you just don't have the energy. Sometimes you can do more and sometimes you can do less but there's no point in trying to do too much. It's always nice to hear from you whether the content is quilty or not.

It is okay to take a vacation from quilting now and then. It is an addictive hobby, and once in a while, you do have to prove to yourself that you can quit anytime you want. Plus it gives you time to plan your next steps.

Doesn't it just seem to go in cycles like that?? I think our bodies tell us when we need to slow down and reenergize.

Working and sleeping is what I've been doing lately too. I did get a retreat in this past weekend which is good.

We'll be here when you come up for quilting "air".

Nancy,
Just do what you can! Life gets in the way a LOT here! No sense doing a fall leaf quilt if you already have one! ;)

Sometimes I try to imagine how little time I would have for quilting if I went back to work. I seem to stay busier now that I'm not working but a lot of that time is spent quilting so I'm happy! Hopefully things will slow down and you'll be able to get back to quilting - blog reading can wait!

I was getting worried about you! It's okay to step back from quilty things. Sometimes our bodies and our minds need a break! Hope things slow down at work and get back to normal for you!

Welcome back. Thought I was going to have to pick up the dreaded telephone to check on you. I FINALLY finished the wording on our project tonight while watching the Saints game. GO SAINTS!!! I hope to get the border on tomorrow. I took the princesses sashes to the embroidery shop tonight. They will be ready for assembly on Wednesday night, so they should be finished for "Queen" pictures on Saturday. I'll take advantage of the wait and finish this project. I haven't worked on the 3" blocks either, but I finally have the sewing machine out, so maybe this weekend... no pageants or festivals to attend. I'll post when I get the borders on.

everyone needs to take a rest at times and if that's what you needed that's fine. We are all still here so don't worry too much if you haven't had the energy to do any quilting or blogreading.

I was seriously thinking of calling you! Glad to know it is busyness of life keeping you away from blogging rather than any number of other things. Missed you!

You know Nan, there just ought to be more hours in a day, and we should be alloted MORE energy as we age! Something is just WRONG with the system!

Always glad to see you whether on your blog or mine, never fear, I wouldn't give up on you for anything...*VBS* Big hugs dear friend, hope it slows down at work soon, Finn

Aloha Nancy.

I miss you, too.

Just when I'm about back to quilting something else pops up. I'm almost back, though.

Purrs to your furry babies and hugs to you.
