Not much stuff going on here this past few weeks. I’ve done no sewing at all. Mostly because the sewing room is totally trashed again and will probably remain that way until around Thanksgiving. That’s my best estimate for when we’ll have David’s new shop built and all the excess stuff in my sewing room can go out to his current shop. And I just can’t find the energy to worry about it. I do have my sewing machine where I can get to it if I want to. Still in the trunk of my car from when I came back from MS almost 2 weeks ago – but accessible. LOL! I do need to push enough stuff aside to get to my stash cabinets cause I think I’m going to do Judy’s new hour-a-day quilt. Have you seen it yet? It’s gorgeous! You really should go check it out. I already have one maple leaf quilt top that I showed you a few posts ago but I really like the way she’s put hers together so I’m thinking David and I each need a new fall quilt. :-)

And have you been to visit Bonnie lately? Looks like she’s got another intriguing pattern in the works. I’m really liking the way it’s turning out and I think that one I need to dig around my strip bins and see what I can find for it. Or I know! I have a bunch of red and white strips from a swap this past spring. And I’ve been wanting to do a red/white quilt. Hhhhhmmmmm…...

Let’s see. No sewing going on. Sorry Susan, I have to re-mark the last 2 rows of my letters because they faded out and I’ve been too lazy to do it. So I haven’t finished that little project yet. But when you finish yours go ahead and post it. I hope to finish mine up this weekend. We have to go to a birthday party tomorrow so I’m thinking I’ll take it to have something to keep my hands busy. It’s an all day party for our great-niece who just turned the big ONE. David’s sister and brother are both coming in so we’ll have a good visit there. And we’ll take both ATVs so we’ll get some riding in too.

I carried Mama’s buttons to bee with me Wed. night and started removing them from the cards. I spend 2 solid hours and barely made a dent! Of course so many of them are held on with wire instead of thread so I’m having to take them off with a pair of needle-nose pliers. NOT FUN doesn’t even begin to describe it. I figure about Christmas I might have all the buttons off the cards. LOL! I’m separating them into those with and without shanks since I can’t use the shank ones for the dolls. Those I’ll find something else to do with. Probably put them in jars on a shelf. :-)

I have a tendency to let life slip past me without noticing much about my surroundings. I’m just not a detail person. I’d make a terrible witness in court! Since I’ve identified this flaw in my makeup I’ve decided to try to do something to overcome it. So I’m challenging myself to include a photo of something I’ve noticed around me that day on my blog. Which will maybe get me back in the daily blogging habit too. We’ll see. Anyway, tonight as we went out for supper I noticed this absolutely marvelous cloud. :-) Isn’t it great?

I am excited about Judy's October quilt also. I have been rearranging my sewing room today so I plant to pull fabric later this week-end. I do have two quilt tops to do but then again, maybe multi-task. I don't have a maple leaf but would love to soo this will be it. I hope to make it a bit bigger for my queen bed though.

What a great idea to post a picture of some detail you notice in the day. The cloud makes me think of wide open spaces.

Love your cloud; the blue of the sky and the wide open spaces. Thanks for visiting my blog too!

Hi Nancy - your cloud photo is a beauty! How exciting that David is getting a new shop - things always look worse before they look better - so hang in there... Afterall, Thanksgiving really is just right around the corner!

Cheers!

That is a beautiful cloud. I love to watch the clouds when we are driving. I should learn to take my camera with me more often to capture those moments.

I love Judy's Leaf Quilt. I am planning on making it next month.

Your idea of including something you notice is a fun one. The cloud is neat, I'm seeing images in it. Can you see a dog on its side, with an ear and a pointy snout on the right side?

Nancy, I also have the last 2 rows of words to complete, only you know me - the leftie- I started opposite everyone else and the two rows I lack are the first two. Ashley is doing a pageant today, to that is going to be my take along while I "hurry up and wait" between, interview, hair and makeup. Much of my stuff is still in the trunk also. I have to clean my car out this weekend!!! But I hope to finish the working today and get the borders on tomorrow so I can post and get help on quilting ideas.

Nancy, you and I are both going through this "thing" now. There's ton of stuff around the house and in the garage I need to sort or store differently, but I just haven't had the energy to do anything about it. You do NEED to get your machine back in the house and set up! One seam a day will get you back in the sewing groove!

The cloud is beautiful! Thanks for sharing it. Can't wait to see what you find next!

(Hugs)

I spent 2 weeks in Texas back in '90, and I would just watch the clouds chase across the open sky. That's what your photo reminded me about.
Don't fuss about the sewing room, it'll come together when you need it. I've reached a plateau with mine. Too many other things going on to think about it right now.

I can see the cat, but I read backwards - so I knew what to look for! MEOW - is all I have been hearing the last two days. (If I am in the bedroom, & they are not, they are LOST! And calling out to be found!)
