Log Cabin Finished

Just finished putting the borders on my Log Cabin. This has been my leaders/enders for the past few months. It was made from my 2" strip bin. (And barely made a dent!) I really like the way it turned out. Unless David wants it (and he has first dibs on any quilt I make!) this will go to my youngest nephew, Chris. Even though it has many floral fabrics and even a bit of pink in it I don't think it's too feminine for a man. And it's made up of scraps from his Grandmother, his Great-Grandmother, his Aunt Nancy, his Aunt Susan, and his Great-Aunt Flo. Hopefully he'll appreciate the bits of family history include and will take comfort in this piece of "home" as he travels wherever the Air Force send him.

This is my new leaders/enders project. Little 3" finished 9-patches. Aren't they cute? :-) Since I need about 450 of these I'll be working on them for awhile. LOL!

And because I can't leave you without a cute cat picture. Here's my 2 big boys, Fluffy and Sam.

the log cabin doesn't look at all "femine" too me with all the blue. All the history is bound to be appreciated too.

Wish I could sleep as comfy as Fluffy does. He's such a darling cat.

Your such a great scrap quilt quilter, Nancy! Truly a family treasure, this latest log cabin. And, I like the looks of your newest leader/ender project. One of these days I will get organized enough to START a leader/ender project -shame on me - I still use a scrap of fabric!!!

Cheers!

The log cabin quilt is beautiful. I've never made one, but it is something I want to do, especially seeing pictures like this one.

I love the log cabin, the kitties (yeah like I have any shortage of kitten photos on my blog, right?) and the 9 patches. My question on the 9 patches. How are you organizing them as a leader/ender project to keep them in order? Most of my leader/ender projects have no particular order, but I need to do a huge number of 9 patches starting Jan. 1 for a Christmas quilt.

Great log cabin! Makes a nice kitty pillow too. :)

And your two cats on the bottom look huge when compared to my two!

your Log Cabin quilt looks great. I'm wondering what you are going to do with those 9 patches. Look forward to seeing the progress.
