This is for Cher

Thanks to Cher for reminding me that I haven't posted here in a while. I'm still sick. :-( I went back to work about a week ago but I'm so washed out by the time I get home I just go to bed. So no sewing or blogging going on. I have flipped thru my email and thru the blog ring every few days but haven't even had the energy to answer anything. I am feeling a bit better so maybe by this weekend I'll feel like doing something.

As I said, this one is for Cher. I sent it to your friend Tracey 6 or 7 years ago. The centers of the stars have "Texas" fabric. I called this "Friends across the Ocean" and also cut one for myself (another of my ufos.) We were on a small online group together (I think you might have also been in it but I don't remember for sure.) Anyway, I had some things come up in my life and I ended up unsubbing from most of my groups and then just plain lost touch with alot of very nice people. Tracey was one of those. I have several cat patterns in my files that she sent me as well as several "australian" fabrics. One with Australian flowers and another with kangaroos and other aussie animals. For years I couldn't seem to cut into them but I've used small bits of each in some special projects recently. And thought of her fondly when I did. Anyway, next time you talk to her tell her "hi" from me.

Its hard to find energy when you're sick at the end of a long day at work. Hang in there...

I think we must be passing a bug thru the ring. I've been sick this week and I know over the last few weeks others have posted about being sick too.

Hope you are on the road to recovery and feeling better soon.

Hi Nancy, I feel like I know you pretty well now that I've read through all your blog posts. Your cats are so very cute. Can't imagine having that many cats however! I love how your quilt turned out for you bed in December. The pinwheel blocks in the border are perfect. And congratulations on your goal progress - well done with all of them. You will SO love sending your tops out to the quilter and getting them back all done. I bit that bullet two years ago, picked out 7 that I was sure I'd never get quilted myself, and gave them to a longarm friend. I paid her $100 a month and she gave them back to me one at a time. Best money I ever spent!
