FINISHED THE TOP!
This is what I've been working on the last few days. A very much more "ME" quilt that the 9-patch/snowball I did last! This one even got high marks from David. When I showed it to him I got, "That's really nice. What are you going to do with it?" Instead of his usual "That's nice." if it's one he doesn't have an opinion one way or the other about. Or just simply "What are you going to do with THAT?" if he doesn't like it at all. LOL! He seemed pleased to hear that this one will rest on the back of my chair and be used to cover my lap/legs when I nap.

The pattern is loosely based on one I saw in a magazine a few years ago. The idea has perculated in the back of my brain for several years and this is my interpretation. I love drunkard's path quilts and knew when I saw the one in the magazine that one day I'd do one similar.

This is made totally from my stash and will bust about 6 yds once I finish piecing the back. I had 7 FQs, 1 yd. of the red, 2 yds. of the blue and will fill out with the black wherever I need it to get the back up to the right size. Then it will be bound in black. It will have circles quilted in the circles and a diagonal crosshatch thru the rest of it. Not sure about the borders yet. I'll decide that when it gets that far. This one will be hand-quilted and will bump all other hand-work projects aside until it's finished. (Can you tell I REALLY like this one?)

cool quilt - I can see circles appliqued on the blue border print - or maybe orange thread used for quilting using the circle as a motif....

I love this top as well and the design is lovely. I love the combination of stripes and plains with the circles and sqs. Another great way to use stash too.

What a wonderful version of Drunkard's Path. It turned out wonderfully, and I can understand why it'll push many another quilting project aside!

Good for you on the stashbusting. I like that quilt too. I think I remember seeing something like that in a magazine too and the thought crossed my mind that I might make it someday. I had forgotten about it til seeing yours.

And, you're going to hand quilt it? That will make it REALLY nice!
