Ok, I just had to play too!

As you can see I couldn't wait until this weekend. I've broken all my other goals already, why not the last one too. LOL! So this is my first wonky house and tree. Not sure I care much for the tree but for a first attempt it's not too bad.

I remember a song from my childhood that started, "There was a crooked man, and he had a crooked house." So I'm going to letter that in the border. Next I want to see if I can figure out how to do stick figure people so I can also put a crooked man and crooked house in the border with the words. The main part of the quilt will be assorted houses, trees and whatever else strikes my fancy while I'm working on this. I know I said nothing new until I finished something on my list. But I've gotten so off track with being sick I needed something to kick start me back into sewing. This is that something so I'm not going to feel at all guilty about working on it. And when I finish I can go back to my regularly scheduled quilting. VBG

Nancy, that poem has been going through my head ever since everyone started making wonky houses. I wondered whether it was going through anyone else's head!

I love the tree - you did a great job with it, and all by thinking up how to do it yourself. Hurrah. House is fun too - I like the camoflaged door.

Good job! I still have to finish up my pineapple blossom so I can jump on the wonky house bandwagon!

Your tree turned out well! When I thought of wonky trees and flowers my mother (the ever present quilt police) pointed out that no matter what I did it would probably not look too wonky given that nature created a number of "wierdnesses" of her own! I think your tree is fun, provides some shade in the yard for your crooked man when he comes out of the house...

Very cute both house and tree. I can't wait to see finished quilts from everyone making these houses.
