I came home from the grocery store this afternoon with every intention of laying on my couch with my newspaper and probably napping to the sound of the rain falling on the roof. There's nothing that'll make my eyes close quicker than the sound of rain on a tin roof. :-) It would have been a perfect Sunday afternoon. Alas this trio had other plans for my couch and I didn't have the heart to toss them off.

So instead I wandered into the sewing room and started sewing on my version of the drunkards path variation in my post a few days ago. I have all the blocks cut out and one block sewn. I'm making 12 blocks for mine. All the backgrounds are assorted greens and and flower parts will be red, pink, orange, yellow, blue and purple - 2 blocks of each. I'm pretty happy with my first block and hope to finish the top over the next 2 days. My company gave us Monday and Tuesday off for the July 4th holiday so I plan to spend both days in the sewing room. I bought me a dvd player for the tv in there and I've got a stack of chick flicks for background noise. If I don't emerge before Wednesday I wish all of my friends in the states a happy Independence Day.

Gratitudes:
My sweet fur babies.
A lazy Sunday afternoon.
Pizza for supper.

I don't think I would have the heart to make them move either, Nancy. They look too comfortable. You have a great time sewing on your days off!

It seems the kitties have their priorities in order- they nap while you quilt another something for them to nap on!

How adorable! Cats can really "turn it on" when they want to, huh?!

its so hard to toss cute kitties when you want the blanket and sofa isn't it... My son's favorite excuse for not getting his own drink is __ but there's a cat on my lap!

I can't believe all the cats hang out on the same couch. My 3 eachhave their own spot, and the others better not mees with them!

Even if I pitch mine off where I want to sit, they're right back wanting to share the space in 5 seconds... lol

Like the quilt they're on too!

What a sweet picture of your cats. They look so comfortable on quilt covered sofa. But then, who wouldn't look comfortable resting on a quilt?

They look all comfy, perfectly lined out on the sofa. Glad you didn't disturb them! :)

I just woke up from a nap with Meow and find your pic of your fur babies posted on your site! Can't wait to see your new quilt, good for you to get back into piecing...sometimes you just gotta get in there and go for it, geee...that is advice I need to take for myself! Thanks for the pics of your trio.

Your kitties made me think of my son in CA who just adopted a kitten and then found two and doesn't have the heart to give them away. He's always talking about his kittens. This from a big tough guy.Cats just seem to belong on quilts.

I'm allergic to cats, but I like the idea of having a quilt to cover up the couch.
