Days 21 and 22

Still nothing bought. I did have a bit of a wobble when I was in Wal-Mart last night with David. He needed something from the automotive dept which is right by the fabric department. And out of reflex I found myself turning right instead of left. But I caught myself and didn't even look. Sheesh! I don't even LIKE most Wal-Mart fabric but there I was going to look. :-(

Hour-a-Day. Not this week. I did put about 30 minutes in Monday and got a sashing piece sewn to the right side of each of my 20 blocks. Then I got sidetracked by the Meow quilt and that was it for the day. Then yesterday was David's birthday so after going out for supper we were a bit late getting in and I just didn't feel like doing anything. Tonight I'll get back on the sashing. My goal is a completed top by the weekend.

I just wanted to let you all know that I've been a bit scarce for a bit in my commenting on your blogs and that will continue for a little while longer. If you're on my bloglines (list on the right side of this page) then I do go visit at least once a day if you have a new post. But I'm not going to have much time to do much more than read for a bit and will only be leaving the occasional comment. I'm spending way too much time on this computer and if I want to get anything done I need to cut that time some. And I have been visiting some of you during the day when I had short spurts of time but my temp worker left this week so I'm not going to have too many short spurts until I get someone else in and trained.

That brings me to my project for this weekend. I have a Sudoku quilt half finished that I was making for that temp. So I do want to get it finished and to her while I still have contact. She's the one who introduced me to that particular obsession so I thought it would be so cool to make this quilt for her. I have the blocks done but got stalled an the numbers and words I wanted to put in the border. After seeing how easy they really are with my Meow quilt I'm ready to tackle the bigger project.

Gotta get to work. See ya this evening with hopefully a post showing real progress on my hour-a-day.

Perhaps we can both finish the Hour A Day top this weekend.

Glad you avoided the wobble...:>)

We know where to find you, Nancy and that is the more important part! We missed you when you had to take a posting hiatus so any comments you make are "gravy"

Look forward to seeing the Sudoku quilt!

I saw a cute sudoku quilt at a show in Finland last month - very sunny - I might need to make one for the friend who got me hooked, too! What a nice idea.

Happy birthday to David and good for you for not even peaking at Wal-Mart! We all have the same amount of hours per day - so I totally understand if you don't have time to leave comments! Afterall, if we spend all our time blogging - how will we ever have something to blog about? Like you - I read others blogs in bits and pieces - stolen moments in my day.

Cheers!

Evelyn

Sounds like you have been really busy. I am surprised how many people are so close to having their top done in the hour a day project. I have been working more than that on my project (I can't follow along) and I'm still not done with it. Definitely by Friday.
Good job on avoiding temptation.

Good girl, Nancy! Force of habit heading for the fabric depts. My car only once started in the direction of the FP since it closed because I had forgotten to change the settings on the auto pilot! LOL!

I was thinking last night about how much time I spend on the computer, and how that takes away from my quilty time. I'm going to set an amount of time for each evening, and that's it! It just gets lonely at the house unless I visit with my friends every day online.

I know exactly what you mean about being on the computer too long. When I get on I'm shocked to find myself for two or three hours and it only feels like 30 minutes. I too have to browse the Wal Mart fabric department and any other store that has fabric, can't help myself, but I don't usually buy anymore. I have too much already.

I think we're all guilty of spending too much time on the computer.
I've pulled the fabric for the hour a day quilt, but that's as far as I've gotten. Plus I have a BOM called Harvest Spice that I'm making for the Precious Twins as a wedding gift. No progress on either.
We'll just enjoy your company whenever you can make a few minutes to visit.

Would love to see a photo of the Sudoko quilt. Your meow quilt is great. At some stage i would like to have a go at Tonya's letters but i think it will have to wait.

I'm a bit like you at the moment and find i spend a lot more time on the computer catching up with Blogs.
