I've been bad. :-)

But I'm not really all that upset about it. LOL!
I went to the LQS this afternoon looking for bluebonnet fabric for Cynthia's siggy swap. I wanted something that would represent the area I live in and couldn't think of anything more appropriate than bluebonnets. And I also needed a nice white to use for the signature part as I'm all out of good white muslin. I found these pretty bluebonnets and a solid white moda. Then I couldn't decide what to use for the accent fabric in the block. I finally settled on this yellow (it's really more a sunshine yellow that shows in the photo). I think it sets off the blues and greens in the other print very well. Since these are for a swap I'm letting them slide on my "no fabric" challenge so this isn't where I went bad.

THIS is where I went bad. When I was wandering around looking for the bluebonnets this pretty pink print just jumped of the shelf into my arms. I told myself I'd just carry it around and pet it while I was there and then put it back when I left. Yeah, maybe in some twisted alternate reality world! In this world I found myself actively looking for go-withs. LOL! As you can see I caved and have now added 10 YARDS to my stash!!!!!!! And fabric that I have no idea what I'm going to do with at that. SIGH!!!! The one in the back on the left is a dark green and the one in the back on the right is a rich deep blue. The colors didn't show up very good in the photo but take my word for it, they look luscious!

Now to find a pattern to use them in right away so they don't sit in my stash. AND I can't forget the 30 yd penalty I have to pay for buying fabric without a specific-right-now-need. I'm allowing myself 1 month to use penalty yards so I guess I'd better get cracking if I want to use that 30 yds myself instead of giving it away! And I think it would be best if I stayed FAR away from the LQS for a little while. Don't you?

Yes you have been bad! How are we ever to reduce these stashes if you keep adding to it??

My weakness is fat quarter bundles - I have tons of them but still buy more! With the Mid Atlantic Quilt Fest coming up I'm sure I'll be bad too. I still have 2 bundles from last year's show that I haven't used but that won't stop me from adding more.

A moment of weakness, but worth it! I can see why the fabric jumped out at you.

Hey- the fabric picked YOU out, not the other way around. That doesn't count! LOL

You have been bad - but those fabric choices are great!

the blue bonnet fabric is very nice. It will look great on the Siggy blocks.

I love the pink fabric. No wonder you couldn't resist buying some. I would have too.

I love those Maywood backgrounds. I can certainly understand how that bolt jumped in your arms and Super-Glued itself to you!

But, Nancy, tsk tsk tsk .... you've got a lot of sewing to do to catch up now! Oooh, what fun! :)

All of the fabric is gorgeous!

Oh my!!! 30 yard fabric penalty. . .hmmmm...and a month to do it??!!! OH MY!!

Gee, my husband almost passed out when I told him I went to a quilt store & saved $6 on the Moda U BOTM. . . but ended up spending $170 at the shop!! LOL

Your fabric choices are lovely. . .glad I can look at yours & stay out of the LQS!

Gosh, great minds and all of that! I picked fabrics for my siggy blocks that represent my town: Loveland. Can you guess? Yep, hearts! Love the bluebonnets.

Oh my - I don't remember anything about a 30 yard penalty! Sounds like a good punishment to me, however. Your fabric is very pretty - eager to see what you do with it.

Hmmmm...Bad girl, huh? Maybe you should let us hold onto that for you! So pretty --
I can't wait to see your siggie blocks, I love that bluebonnet. I couldn't find the poppy fabric for my state, (CA) but I did use orange - I like your thinking!

10 yards bad! Yikes. If you are going to fall off the wagon you may as well go all the way.

What a nice fabric for the swap. It is always very difficult to go to a fabric shop without buying anything. Guess how I know. I am sure you will find very quickly a use for the new yards! And if not, well they don´t go bad, do they?

I was thinking about you tonight as I folded new fat quarters - can't be a scrappy scrap quilter without any fabric, now can I? My fabrics make me happy - I just like to look at them sometimes! And, new fabrics added into the mix are always exciting. So, I understand how such wonderful new fabrics jumped in your cart. You are a fabric lover too! Not sure about your "penalty" though... if I were you... I think I would make myself cut 30 yards into strips which always sure to find their way into a scrap quilt because they are already cut! Sometimes that first slice is the hardest!!!

Cheers!

Evelyn

Nancy, that bluebonnet fabric is gorgeous. I'm afraid I would have bought that too.

Yep, you've been bad! Stay out of the quilt shops. :)

Your fabric choice is wonderful. If you use all the fabric you just purchased within a month then it's not part of your stash...right?
I can't wait to see another quilt done.

Wow, that bluebonnet fabric is absolutely gorgeous! Being bad can be good sometimes LOL!

Great fabric choices. Sometimes it just feels so good to be bad. However, what you did was not illegal, immoral nor fattening - so how bad could it be?

Oh, you are too funny! Yea, I like to pet fabric too! lol I'm not on a stash reducing diet nor a fabric one, I don't think my heart could handle it! Although my husband would probably like it! LOL Now why do you HAVE to use that new fabric? You'll only be adding to that already long list of UFO's! lol The reason why my list is so short is because I haven't listed everything ;oP. Now don't go and tell anyone! lol

The bluebonnet fabric is beautiful. Looking forward to receive this siggie from you.
Buying fabrics LOL Do NOT feel guilty. Just enjoy them.

Happy Valentine's Day, Nancy!

That is a gorgeous bluebonnet fabric. You can consider the fabric as your gift for Valentine's Day, so it is technically not a purchase.

The bluebonnets are perfect for your sig block swap. I remember that gorgeous picture you posted on the blog with them last year.

But do you want us to scold you about the other stuff that followed you home? Probably not and I detect no remorse, LOL. I know you have an action plan for using it right now so that will help. I can see why it was tempting you and had to follow you home. Lovely stuff. Now if we can keep you out of the quilt shop and off the fabric sites online, there might be less temptation.
