I haven't done much sewing the last few days except my hand piecing at lunch so I don't have anything finished enough to share yet. So how about another from my top stash. A few years ago I bought a group of fqs that also included a Sandy Gervais panel called "Summer Fun" (I think). I'm not sure why I bought it as it is not my colors at all. Way too pastel. But I thought it was cute and wanted to challenge myself to do something that I wouldn't normally do. I pondered the group for a few weeks and then just set out to play one day. I cut the panel apart and some of it I set as wonky blocks, others I put star points on and others I just used by themselves. I used the other fabrics from the bundle along with some asst. tot yellows I bought to use as backgrounds. I turned the cut off triangles from the star blocks into pinwheels and made the checkerboard and 9 patch bits from some of the blenders. Then I played with laying them out until I came up with this setting. I didn't have enough of any one fabric for borders so I used green on 2 sides and pink on the other 2. I'm kinda pleased with the outcome. Don't have any idea what I'll eventually do with it. To me it begs for hand quilting so probably one day I'll do that and just save it for the next time I need a "little girl" quilt.

Like Amy - I say WOW too - so creative! I almost always work from a pattern - I just don't seem to have the time to be creative right now! Love the finished top.

Cheers!
