DANG IT! Another non-productive day in the sewing room. :-( Maybe I'm saving myself for Judy's project? I don't know but I just can't seem to make myself do anything these days.
Enough whining! I'm shutting this box down right now and going to sit in my sewing room. And maybe while I'm there I'll clean up some of the mess that's been tossed all around as I've been digging thru my stash lately. And MAYBE I'll even get some borders on a couple of those quilts I was working on before I hit my slump.
Oh, I almost forgot! I was REALLY tempted last night to break my no-boy challenge. I got an email from Thousands of Bolts and they now carry batiks! With an average price of around $5 per yard! And I did have to go look but managed to sit on my fingers without ordering. Even thought hey did have one light that I really liked and would have been perfect as a background to use some of my vast collection of batik FQs with. In fact if they still have it come Sept 1st I will order it. Like I said I have a lot of batiks but most of them are FQs with the occasional 1 yd piece thrown in. So I really do NEED something to use as a background to use some of them up. But it can wait until September. I have plenty to work with in the meantime. :-)
Now I really am going to shut down and go play up front. I'll be back tonight with some kind of progress to report. I promise!

Oh, Nancy, please don't give up your no-boy challenge! :)
I was very tempted with that email from thousands of bolts too!!
oh great, now I have to go check out Thousands of Bolts and see about the batiks - thanks alot, Nancy! Just remember, its your fault, you made me look!
great job resisting the temptation - I find cleaning out my stash kind of kills the desire to buy because then I will have to find a place to store so I say go clean your room!
Hold strong til September 1st! Even if that fabric is gone... I promise that you'll fall in love with another piece. ;)
way to use your self determination -- it appreciates the exercise :-)
Nancy, dear, you're our role model here! I'm too chicken to even click open that email! I've gotten bolts from them before and I like their service. That stuff will be there come September!
((HUGS))
no-boy challenge??? I would fail greatly as I have a hubby, 2 sons and 3 grandsons...
Well done on resisting the temptation to buy the batiks.
Hope you find something to work on today.
Hey, getting other people to buy fabric FOR you is kind of a sneaky way to get by the depression, isn't it? lol
You are so funny. I look forward to your daily progress. Gee, you are almost half way to Sept. 1st.
Good for you - resisting temptation makes it easier the next time!
So, how are those borders? Finished?
Nancy i have a great quilt for the batik fqs if you want it. i think it's called asian tiles but i did it in batiks and called it batik blocks. its really bright and super easy. my ds loves the quilt..
good luck with the cleanup
and thanks for the flylady website. i saw your comment on mismatched quilter's blog... i could sure use that LOL!!
Sounds like you are hanging in there Nancy!!
I've had a non productive week also..no sewing for me..but I gotta change that..hopefully today!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for your background to be there in Sept. Hugs, Finn
I know how you feel. I'm working and now really miss messing with my fabric early in the mornings and right now I'm just too tired after work. I'll start up again once I get used to it. I just walk into my sewing room and say hi to my sewing machine.
hey, where is that progress post?? Come on Nancy, you can do this! turn on the machine...start stitching...oh, maybe that's why there is no post-you are stitching away!
