Please help me celebrate my birthday

Tomorrow is my birthday and I'd love to have a gift from each of you. :-) The gift I'd like is for you to make string blocks for Mary's Heartstrings project. She has a link on her sidebar to the Yahoo group that was formed for the project. Or if you don't want to join the group just email me and I'll send you the guidelines for making the blocks and my address to mail the completed blocks to.

All I'm asking is that everyone who reads my blog on a regular basis to make 1 block for my birthday. And if you'd like to make more that would be great too. In fact for the first 20 people who are willing to make 12 blocks I'll send you 1 yard muslin for your foundations and 12 red or blue strings (your choice) for your center strips. Just be one of the first 20 to email me your mailing address and I'll get those packages out next week. (Now isn't that a sneaky way for me to bust some stash? LOL!)

So what do you say? Do you love me enough to make just one string block? And if you really love me maybe you'd also join me in making a block in memory of my Dad who would have celebrated his 82nd birthday today. I have 20 blue center strips and muslin foundations all prepped and ready to sew in his honor this afternoon.

I wish we had known a bit sooner so we could post pics of our gifts to you! I have a busy day today (canning turkey soup and a lunch date) but if I can I will make a couple of Bday blocks for you!

Happy Birthday! I just joined the heartstrings group! I have a whole bolt of muslin, and plenty of leftover strings from the AmHero project, so don't count me in your 20, but I'll post pics when I have a bunch done. I have to clear up the tail end of my CQ commitments for the month first, and we are travelling starting next week.

How close are you to Uvalde/Crystal City? That's where we will spend a part of the winter, at least.

Happy Birthday Nancy!

I will certainly make both a red block and a blue block in your honor (and your Dad's) ... but you MAY NOT send me any fabric!!! I already have enough here to last me several lifetimes.

I'll share a pic of your special blocks tomorrow.

Hugs ~ Jeanne :)

A very happy birthday to you my friend. What a great way to ask us to celebrate. I'd love to sew some string blocks in your honor - my string bin overfloweth - but I'm not a deadline to finish Sophie's Stars so I can't do anything else. Our DDIL had another ultrasound because her doctor couldn't get an accurage measurement of her uterus - thought it was 2 weeks too small. Come to find out the ultrasounds showed it to actually be larger than expected - more like 36 weeks than 34 weeks. So maybe she'll be early - and I must have her quilt done in time for her to "wear" it home from the hospital.

Happy Birthday, Sweet Nancy! Count me in on making blocks for your birthday as well as in memory of your dad. For some reason I can't get to the instructions on block size, etc., so if you could email those to me, I'd appreciate it. But, please, NO fabric here! My stash room is so full it's about to pop wide open!

Hugs

I too, have held back from joining anything else... too many ufo's and blogs and quilts-in-progress here, but I will make some heartstrings blocks for you!

Don't need any fabric here either, plenty of both muslin and strings for a whole army. :)

Just let me know the address to send them to and the specifics as to size and any other guidelines.

Happy birthday Nancy!!! I just packed away my Austria stash for another year and will head to the US in another week - so ALL my fabrics are in Austria and Canada, but don't you worry - I will just zip right on over to Joanne's for muslin and my very favorite LQS for some discounted fat quarters and borrow a sister's machine and get to work. It will be fun! I already joined the Yahoo group so have all the directions. Sadly, only Shakespeare and Grandmother's Choice found room in my suitcase for the return trip - I felt a bit sad to leave my scraps and fabrics, so it will be fun to do a little shopping with a purpose in mind. It is a wonderful tribute to your Dad!!!

Hi Nancy, I was feeling bad that I wasn't here yesterday for your birthday, but I see that I am perfectly ON TIME!!!
Happy January 7th birthday dear friend!!! Hugs, hugs, hugs!! And yes, I will make you a Heartstring block(or two or three) and also for your Dad. I'd be sooooo honored to do that. You and he were both on my mind when I left you that comment back near Christmas. I know how hard the first one is after the loss. I've scooted over to join the Heartstring group, since I'm in Stashbuster, should be ok..and it sounds like fun..*VBS* You know me and scraps! Thanks for all the love and encouragement of late, and always, special birthday hugs, Finn

Happy birthday! Will you accept a donation of binding instead of a block or two? If so, let me know what color and about how long it would need to be. Thanks!

Nancy - I made 4 more string blocks in honor of your birthday today. I've got a set of 20 ready to ship off to Sue along with some $$ for postage and fabric for a backing.

I also started piecing string blocks for one of my UFO's that has been sitting around for almost 2 years now and got 4 blocks done. I'll keep this set of blocks myself and make the quilt start to finish and donate it here in Minneapolis.
